Bean Is Back!

Melissa Bean is a proven leader in Congress, business, and her community with a track record of getting things done for Illinois' 8th District.

As our Congresswoman, Melissa delivered. She beat the longest serving Republican incumbent, proving Democrats can win anywhere. This victory showed Democrats can connect with suburban families and fight for what matters. She was instrumental in passing Obamacare, lowering healthcare costs for families. And, she fought to protect everyday investors with the strongest banking regulations in 50 years, creating the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau which has returned more than $21B to consumers. Melissa defended reproductive rights, passed laws to protect kids online, and helped pass the Recovery Act, getting our economy back on track following the financial crisis.

As a business leader, she built and led teams, then founded her own consulting firm, helping technology companies grow and create jobs. Her leadership at JPMorgan Chase and Mesirow Financial supported numerous Illinois businesses and families.

Melissa has served on the boards of One Million Degrees, Junior Achievement, and World Business Chicago to create opportunities across all of our communities.

A Maine East and Roosevelt College alum, Melissa and her husband are proud of their two daughters raised here in Illinois, they have deep roots in our community and she is committed to investing in our future.
